Perseverance Project- Unit 1

The computer lab is in use again this week for MAP testing, so please work quietly in the library and only use the computers in my classroom. 
Please see me today regarding your first extended response we worked on last week.  I will give you feedback on what I feel you need to work on to improve the response.

For your first BIG project this year you will be creating a presentation focusing on the unit theme of perseverance. For this project you may use Glogster (which is what you used to create your All About Me introduction) or a new web application called Prezi (create astonishing presentations LIVE on the web).

Your presentation must include the following information:

• Title of your presentation
• definition of perseverance
• the five people you selected as showing perseverance (listing the challenges, obstacles, and goals they achieved)
• the novel you read about perseverance
• characters, setting, plot of the novel
• explain how the main character showed perseverance in the story
• explain what the main character's strongest traits
• compare and contrast the main character to one of the five people you selected above- what traits do they have in common, what sets them apart
• use the letters in PERSEVERANCE and create an acrostic- I can show you if you do not know what this is
• what traits do you share with the character or the five people listed above- how have you shown perseverance in your life
